The 2022 Nissan Altima’s primary engine is the 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which produces 188 horsepower and 180 ankles of power. It’s a sturdy unit, but it doesn’t try to hide how hard it works to propel the Altima’s 3,325 pounds. To make matters worse, during heavy acceleration, the CVT’s inclination to keep the motor on the boiling results in a noticeable droning noise.

The Nissan Altima 2022’s basic 2.5-liter model achieves an EPA-estimated 28 City/39 highway/32 combined mpg. AWD models lose just one city/2 highway mpg and two combination mpg. Even if the numbers seem great at first sight, remember that the four-cylinder Accord gets two more mpg in the city and one more mpg on the highway.
Fuel efficiency figures for the four-cylinder Camry are identical to those for the Altima, making all three vehicles fall within a small range. The 2022 Nissan Altima oil type is 5W30 synthetic.

After adjusting the seats and opening the rear AC vents, we squeezed three high school sophomores into the backseat for a trip to the neighborhood smoothie store. However, any excursion lasting more than 20 minutes would need a larger vehicle. However, a smaller group of three or four people should be able to find suitable lodgings.
Infotainment
The Altima S comes standard with a 6-speaker AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth and an auxiliary connection. At the same time, the Altima SV upgrades to an 8-inch display with a pair of tiny knobs. These are the most frequently used features and redundant steering wheel buttons.
There are both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay now. The climate controls are the standard fare for Nissan vehicles, with two knobs on each side of an oval panel of switches. Unremarkable, yet surprisingly simple to understand and use.

The trunk of an Altima can be opened to the front, making it simple to transport big or cumbersome cargo.
There are a few cupholders and some storage space in front of the seat on the center console. It serves its purpose, but we’d like additional options for storing small, unsecured items. Unsurprisingly, the door handles with the more oversized pockets are designed for carrying, you guessed it, more important stuff.

The 2022 Nissan Altima is still an efficient and practical car without pretense or gimmickry, reasonably bringing the conventional. The base price of the SR front-wheel drive model is around $2000 lower than that of the Accord Sport. Yet it has the same desirable qualities of being robust, quiet, and smooth ride.
So long as you don’t have high hopes for the Altima’s driver involvement or unique design, you will be satisfied with your purchase. A sizable portion of the consumer population views it as being adequately satisfied.
